VH1 announced on Thursday it will produce a made for television biographic film about 90s R&B trio TLC to kick off a new series of musical bio films. The network has tapped Kate Lanier to write the script for the TLC story, but has yet to cast the roles of TLC members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.
TLC enjoyed tremendous success in the 1990s with four hit albums, including their 1999 set "FanMail," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard albums chart. But the band also went through its share of turmoil, from personal conflicts between bandmates, to bankruptcy, to Left Eye burning down her boyfriend's house, to her untimely death in 2002.
