Megadeth, the iconic Bay Area thrash band fronted by former Metallica guitarist Dave Mustaine, was among the nominees for the 54th annual Grammy Awards, announced Wednesday night. The band earned a nod for its song "Public Enemy No. 1" in the "Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance" category. It is the tenth time Megadeth has been up for a Grammy, though it has never won.
Also up for the award is Dream Theater's "On the Backs of Angels," the Foo Fighters' "White Limo," Mastodon's Curl of the Burl," and Sum 41's "Blood In My Eyes." The winner will be announced February 12th at a ceremony televised on CBS.
