Iconic rock guitarist Michael Schenker announced over the weekend he is getting together with former Scorpions bandmate drummer Herman Rarebell for four tour dates in Japajn in March. Schenker will reportedly play hit songs from the Scorpions, UFO, MSG and even some of Rarebell's solo work during the shows, beginning March 27th in Osaka. The mini-tour moves to Nagoya for a show at the Diamond Hall on the 28th, then concludes with a pair of shows at the Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo on the 29th and 30th.
Schenker joined the Scorpions, which had been founded by his older brother Rudolph, at the age of 17. While touring for the band's debut album, 1972's "Lonesome Crow," Michael was invited to join UFO, whom the band was touring with. While the Scorpions went on to tremendous commercial success, Michael became one of the most respected Rock guitarists of all time, through his work in UFO and a lengthy solo career. Herman Rarebell joined the Scorpions in 1977, playing on 8 studio albums and writing the lyrics for such classic Sorpions songs as "Rock You Like a Hurricane," Blackout," and "Bad Boys Running Wild," among others.
