Fans in Detroit are in an uproar over the news that Nickelback has been chosen to perform at halftime of this year's Detroit Lions game on Thanksgiving Day.  The Lions are actually a competitiveteam this year for the first time in years, and their Turkey Day matchup with the Green Bay Packers is a heavily-anticipated key division matchup. 

With the National spotlight on the Motor City on Thanksgiving for once, fans are pushing for more Detroit-based music like native rocker Kid Rock or even a Mowtown artist rather than Nickelback, who hails from Canada.  Fans have taken the fight to the Internet, taking to various forums and social media sites to plead with the NFL to change its mind, and even creating a petition on the matter at Change.org.
