Steven Tyler Denies Rumors that He's Off the Wagon

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler spoke with the "Today" show's Matt Lauer Thursday morning, in order to adress growing speculation that his face-smashing fall in a Paraguay hotel room was evidence of his return to substance abuse, rather than an innocent fall in the shower, as was reported.  Tyler explained that the simple fact that he was speaking with Laur so early in the morning proves he hasn't fallen off the wagon.  He also allowed NBC to broadcast the photo below, taken right after his fall.

"We flew last night from Paraguay after that incident and we're in Argentina for two hours," he said. "And anyone who knows anyone who uses substances wouldn't be up at this hour having a talk with Matt Lauer and the rest of America."  Tyler famously battled substance abuse for years as the frontman of one of America's most successful rock bands.  In fact, the band's wild and crazy partying in the 80s earned Tyler and Aerosmith gutarist Joe Perry the nickname "The Toxic Twins."
