Paul Rodgers, former Bad Company and Queen frontman, spoke out Thursday in response to rumors that he and Queen are planning to reunite for a special performance at next year's Summer Olympics in London. In an interview with Billboard, the singer says that he has heard the rumors, and would be open to the idea, but that no one from the band has approached him on the subject.
Rodgers also indicated that he is in favor of the Queen Extravaganza tribute band being assembled by longtime Queen drummer Roger Taylor. Rodgers says that it would be interesting to get a bunch of different takes on Queen classics. Despite the rumors that Queen may bring Rodgers back in for a performance at the Olympics, the singer is not sitting around waiting for a phone call. He recently released three home videos and CDs chronicling notable concerts from his illustrious career. He is also considering writing a book detailing his experiences in the recording industry, has been writing material for a future solo album, and is scheduled to perform December 3rd at the Venue in Chichester, England with the Deborah Bonham Band..
