Rapper Soulja Boy was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with felony drug and weapons possession, when he and four others were pulled over for a traffic violation in Temple, Georgia and police found a "substantial amount" of marijuana and a cache of guns.
The 21 year-old rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was in a Cadillac Escalade with four other men when police pulled the vehicle over at about 3:15 in the morning about 20 miles east of the Alabama border. A spokesman for the Temple Police said that a "substantial amount" of marijuana was found in the vehicle, in addition to several guns and a large amount of cash.
The men were all charged with felony marijuana possession, felony possession of a weapon in commission of a crime, and possession with intent to distribute. The timing of the arrest was unfortunate for the rapper, as it happened just a few hours before his new DVD, "Soulja Boy: The Movie" arrived in stores.
