As pop icon Madonna puts the finishing touches on her upcoming 12th studio album, rumors have begun flying about her plans for a tour to support the set. Earlier this month, rumors surfaced that she had been pegged to perform at next year's Super Bowl halftime show, but those rumors have yet to be confirmed by her publicist or the NFL, and now fans have begun chattering about a supposed world tour, scheduled to begin next March.
The tour rumors started when a fan website, DrownedMadonna.com, received and published an email from an "unconfirmed insider." The email contained a photo of a rather cheap-looking press release on what appeared to be Live Nation letterhead listing dates for a tour that would take the Material Girl to four continents, starting in Auckland, New Zealand. As with the Super Bowl rumors, Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, has declined to confirm the validity of the press release.
