Pop superstar Katy Perry and her label EMI have decided to go ahead and go for the record by releasing a sixth single from Perry's "Teenage Dream" album. Should the single, "The One that Got Away," reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, it will be the first time in the chart's 53 year history one album spawns three No. 1s. The album's first five singles all made it to the top of the chart, something no woman had ever achieved. In fact, the only other album to ever produce 5 Hot 100 chart-toppers is Michael Jackson's 1987 release "Bad".
In addition to spawning five chart-topping singles, "Teenage Dream" has sold over 1.8 million copies. The record opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart last September, and has remained in the chart's Top 40 for 55 straight weeks. "The One that Got Away" arrives on radio next month.
