Rapper Lil' Wayne, whose "Tha Carter IV" album nearly went platinum in its first week of release, continued his hot streak Thursday when nominations were announced for the upcoming BET Hip-Hop Awards.  Weezy led the pack for the ceremony, collecting an un-precedented 18 nominations, doubling the nods received by Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, who came in second with nine nominations each.  Among the categories Wayne was nominated in is the coveted MVP of the Year Award, for which he is up against Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony will take place at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta on Oct. 1.  Handling hosting duties for the third time will be comedian Mike Epps.  The show will be aired ten days later, October 11th on BET.  Check out a full list of the nominees below.
