Another violent storm has caused tragedy at an outdoor music festival, killing at least three and injuring more than 70 at the Pukkelpop Festival in Hasselt, Belgium. According to various reports, the violent storm arose quickly, dropping large hail on fans as heavy winds toppled tents, uprooted trees, and tossed equipment around like debris.
The violent part of the storm reportedly only lasted about ten minutes, but it was long enough to cause heavy damage. After the storm settled down, rescuers had trouble lifting large equipment and debris because they couldn't get cranes across the muddy grounds. Surprisingly, a statement on the festival's official website indicated that they would resume the entertainment on Friday: "Tonight we'll clean up the site and safely so we can start again tomorrow at 11 pm. A new start for Pukkelpop 2011."
