Rapper Jay-Z has been confirmed for Clear Channel's very first iHeartRadio Music Festival, scheduled for September 23 and 24th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Jay-Z will perform without his "Watch the Throne" collaborator Kanye West, closing out the first night of the festival. The timing of the announcement is somewhat curious, as "Watch the Throne" debuted last week, breaking the all-time US sales record for an album on iTunes in one week.
Jay-Z joins an impressive list of the biggest names in music at the festival, including Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Jane's Addiction, Alicia Keys, Coldplay and many more. The event, which is intended to celebrate the launch of Clear Channel's new iHeartRadio digital music service, sold out in just ten minutes after tickets went on sale. Fans will also be able to catch the event via a live stream on iHeartRadio.com or on the websites of any of Clear Channel's 850 radio stations around the country.
