Coheed and Cambria Bassist Officially Out of Band

Bassist Michael Todd, who was arrested for threatening employees at a drugstore with a fake bomb to get Oxycontin, has been relieved of his duies with Coheed and Cambria in a "mutual decision," according to a statement on the band's website.  "After a lot of thought, introspection and discussion, Coheed and Cambria will be continuing our journey without bassist Michael Todd," the statement read. "We have spoken to him and this is a mutual decision between both parties. Michael was a great contributor; our hearts go out to his family and to all those who appreciate his talents."

Todd was arrested July 10th after he allegedly walked into a pharmacy and demanded Oxycontin claiming he had a bomb.  The pharmacy's employees gave Todd 6 bottles of the powerful narcotic and he was seen leaving the store in a cab, which he took to the Comcast Center in nearby Mansfield, Massachusetts, where the band was scheduled to perform as the opening act for Soundgarden.  Wes Styles, formerly a guitarist and keyboardist for Savatage, has taken Todd's place as the band's bassist.
