Irish rockers U2 wrapped up their highly successful 360 tour in Mocton, New Brunswick on Saturday, bringing to an end the biggest tour of all time. According to Billboard, the tour grossed a $736 million and drew over 7,250,000 fans to 110 shows, both records for a single tour. The tour surpassed the Rolling Stones, who grossed $558 million on their tour that ended earlier this year.
The success of the 360 tour is evidence not only of the band's global appeal, but also of the success of its innovative 360-degree production, which increased the capacity of many stadiums by as much as 25 percent. The tour began back on June 30th, 2009 in Barcelona, Spain and remained in Europe until September 12th, when Americans got their fist shot at the tour with a show in Chicago.
