Following her tragic death last weekend, British soul singer Amy Winehouse has returned to the top ten on the Billboard 200 albums as her second album, 2007's "Back to Black", came in at No. 9 on the chart. The album sold 37,000 albums during the week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, after selling just 1,000 copies in the previous week. Winehouse's 2004 debut album "Frank" also re-entered the chart, coming in at No. 57 with 8,000 copies sold.
With the boost in sales after her death, there have been more Amy Winhouse albums sold in the past week (55,000), than in the entire first half of the year. The majority of sales were digital, as the albums are generally not abundantly in stock in music stores. Winehouse also moved 111,000 singles, led by 38,000 downloads of her hits song "Rehab." The single also re-entered the charts, coming in at No. 46 on the Digital Songs chart.
