Country Legend Glen Campbell Diagnosed with Alzheimer's

Country music legend Glen Campbell, famous for his 1975 hit "Rhinestone Cowboy," has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.  Campbell revealed his affliction in the latest issue of People magazine.  The 75 year-old singer is sharing the news, he says, because he hopes to launch a farewell tour this fall, together with one last album, "Ghost On the Canvas," set to hit stores August 30th.

"Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer," his wife Kim said.  "But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?' "

Campbell was diagnosed six months ago, after suffering from short term memory loss for the last few years.  "I still love making music," says Campbell. "And I still love performing for my fans. I'd like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin."
