No surprise, but representatives for troubled British pop star Amy Winehouse announced on Tuesday that she will not be making the rest of her scheduled tour stops across Europe this summer. Winehouse showed up to a gig in Belgrade, Serbia on Saturday in a state of intoxication too intense to perform. She stumbled through the partial set, after showing up an hour late, had trouble remembering lyrics, and overall just made a fool of herself.
The fans in attendance jeered and booed the singer during the performance, which local media called the "worst concert in the history of Belgrade." Her manager announced the following day that the next two shows in Istanbul and Athens were being canceled, and Tuesday said the rest of the twelve stops would be scrapped as well.
Winehouse showed great promise with her breakout album "Back In Black" in 2006. But the star has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, and several run-ins with the law, ever since. There have long been plans for a follow up to "Back to Black," but nothing has ever come of them.
