Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has reportedly signed on to revive his role as St. Jimmy in a film adaptation of the hugely successful "American Idiot" musical, which was based on the band's concept album of the same name.  The movie will come from Tom Hanks' Platone Productions, and will be directed by Michael Mayer, who also directed the Broadway musical.  The film is tentatively scheduled for a 2013 release.
