The Black Eyed Peas were forced to cancel their free concert in New York's Centrqal Park Thursday night because of thunderstorms in the area. The concert, which was expected to draw at least 60,000 spectators to Central Park's Great Lawn, was scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM ET, but, because of darkening skies, authorities kept concertgoers away from the Great lawn.
Fans were eventually allowed into the park just before 8:00, but the weather wouldn't cooperate and organizers called the concert off just after 8:15. No word yet on if or when the concert, which was to benefit the Robin Hood charity, will be rescheduled. Carole King, Tony Bennett, Ll Cool J and Natasha Bedingfield were also on the bill.
