After some personal friction with one of the band's other members, Seether guitarist Troy McLawhorn has returned to Evanescence, the band he spent a year with before joining Seether. McLawhorn first joined Evanescence in 2007 when the band's original guitarist John LeCompt left the band. He would join Seether in 2008, and was with the band until last month when disagreements with another member prompted him to leave.
Interestingly, the singers of both bands, Shaun Morgan and Amy Lee, dated for two years in the early 2000s before going through a bitter break-up in 2005. Seether has not shown an indication that MclAwhorn will be replaced immediately.
Evanescence, meanwhile, is hitting the studio next week to begin work on its first new album since their 2006 set, "The Open Door." Seether's new album, "Holding On To Strings Better Left To Fray" is due in stores May 17th, and the band is currently on the road supporting the impending release.
