The Foo Fighters have been booked as the musical guest on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" on April 9th, according to a spokesman for the show.  Actress Helen Mirren will host that night's show.  It will be the Foos' sixth time on the show, whie Mirren is hosting for the first time.  The spokesman also said that British pop icon Elton John will be hosting the show's April 2nd episode, with folk legend Leon Russell as the musical guest.



Promoting their upcoming album "Wasting Light," the Foo Fighters will perform on "Saturday Night Live" on Apr. 9. With actress Helen Mirren's debut as the night's host, this will be the band's sixth time on the show. Also scheduled to appear earlier in the month (on Apr. 2) is British superstar Elton John, in his first "SNL" appearance since 1982. John will be joined by his "The Union" collaborator and friend Leon Russell as the show's musical guest.
