Rock 'n' Roll legend Bob Geldof, during his keynote adress at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas on Thursday, warned that the future of the genre he called "America's great cultural gift to the world" is in jeopardy. "Rock'n'roll needs to be against something. It can't just BE," the musician and respected activist said. Geldoff also criticized the industry's "smug and complacent" music festivals and "the glee-club-ification of my music -- f**k off! I want it back," he opined.
