Members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) have raised voices of protest concerning the organization's decision to honor Kid Rock in its Detroit chapter. The protests are in response to Kid Rock's repeated use of the Confederate flag in his videos and onstage. "To me it just represents pride in southern rock'n'roll music, plus it just looks cool," Kid Rock said about his ude of the flag in a 2008 interview.
