R&B legend Etta James is reportedly battling several life-threatening ailments and her husband of 41 years is trying to obtain a California court order to control more than $1 million of her money. James has been diagnosed with dementia and leukemia, for which she is undergoing treatment. Her physician has testified in court that the singer is unable to sign her name and needs help with feeding, dressing, and hygiene. James previously signed over power of attorney to her two sons, Donto and Sametto, in February of 2008, but her husband, Artis Mills is challenging that power of attorney. A hearing is scheduled for Friday, January 14th to hear Mills' case.
