Legendary rockers Pink Floyd have reportedly signed a 5-year contract with EMI Music, despite a rather contentious relationship with them over the last few years. The contact, described as a global partnership to market and distribute Pink Floyd's best-selling catalog, brings to an end all legal disputes between the band and the label.
The band won a court case against EMI in the early part of 2010 alleging that the label had violated the terms of a previous contract that said their songs could not be sold outside the context of their original albums. Despite that ruling, individual Pink Floyd songs are still sold on iTunes and Amazon, and will continue to be as part of the new deal.
