The legendary British Rock band Queen has reportedly ended their 40 year relationship with EMI Records and signed a deal with Universal Music Group. The new partnership is reportedly preparing for a 2011 release of remastered versions of their classic studio albums. The news is the latest of a string of hits taken by EMI, who has lost iconic bands like Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, and Radiohead since the label was taken over by a pivate equity firm, Terra Firma in 2007.
