Spin suggested in a recent piece on the recently reunited Soundgarden the band's bassist, Ben Shepherd, was broke and basically homeless prior to the band's reunion. Shepherd has posted a denial on the Soundgarden website, saying that his words were sensationalized to make the story more interesting. Spin has not commented on Shepherd's denial.
