A photo was posted on the Facebook page of The Cars featuring the surviving members of the band gathered in front of their instruments in a Boston studio, fueling rumors that the band is planning a reunion after a 23 year absence. There is also a link on the Facebook page to a story aboutthe reunion rumors with the message: "Anyone in the mood for a reunion by the Cars?"

The Cars split in 1987 as one of the most succesful new wave bands in history. The band's original bassist, Benjamin Orr, passed away in 2000. Frontman Ric Ocasek has gone on to a successful career as a producer, working with artists such as Weezer and No Doubt.
