Legendary country music songwriter Hank Cochran died yesterday morning at his home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, just north of Nashville. He was 74. Cochran composed a number of hits for such starts as George Strait, Patsy Cline, Eddy Arnold, Vern Gosdin, Ronnie Milsap, and Mickey Gilley. His health had been declining since 2008 when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Cochran is enshrined in both the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame.
