The social music television network Akoo International has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against rapper T.I. alleging that the rapper's use of the name Akoo, with regards to his Akoo clothing line , has mislead, deceived and confused consumers and potential clients. Akoo delivers video content to more than 86 million customers over the web, in shopping malls and schools across 30 states. A company spokesman says that they were forced to take action when, recently, the rapper's clothing line ran a controversial billboard campaign in Newark, New Jersey; which was condemned by the city's mayor as well as its residents.
