Original Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery has decided to permanently leave the band. Avery joined the band during the third reunion in 2008 and toured with the band last spring. Reportedly, the group's in-fighting began again when the group went in to write and record new music. Avery reported on his Twitter page:

"That's it,with equal parts regret and relief, the JANE'S ADDICTION experiment is at an end."

The remaining members, Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, and Stephen Perkins have reportedly begun recording with a new bassist who is rumored to be former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagen. The band just finished performing at Australia's Soundwave Festival. Check out the clip below.
