Brooklyn-based emcee/rapper Shyne has signed a 7-figure deal with Def Jam Records, according to reports. Several major labels have been battling to sign the rapper ever since he was released from prison and deported to Belize last October. He was sentenced to ten years back in June, 2001 for charges of attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment. Shyne was a part of the early days of Bad Boy Records, Sean "P-Diddy" Combs' label, and appears on some of Combs' early work.
