Tom Waits is working on a new album, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times. The album is only in the creative phase at this point, and a release date has not been revealed. "We may record sometime in the spring," said Waits. "You're never sure how long it will take. You write two songs and you put them in a room together and they have offspring."

Waits has been active lately with his just released live 2 disc CD "Glitter and Doom Live" and soundtracks for two upcoming films.
