It appears that James Hetfield, longtime Marin resident, is now willing to work with Marin County officials to open up a new trail allowing hikers to skirt a fence owned by the frontman.  The fence was put up over the summer to prevent people from crossing.  One of the possibilities  would require that Hetfield provide access on his land.
