Hanoi Rocks' Andy McCoy autobiography finally to be released in North America

The brutally honest, vividly torrid autobiography of Hanoi Rocks guitarist and co-founder Andy McCoy will be available for the first time in North America on July 31st. "Sherriff Mcoy: Outlaw Legend of Hanoi Rocks" covers McCoy's upbringing in Sweden and Finland and, in explicit detail, the wild ride that he and singer Michael Munroe enjoyed during the Glam Metal hey-day in the '80s. McCoy is an enormous star in his native Finland and has been called the Finnish Keith Richards, except, while Richards fell from a coconut tree, McCoy actually survived a fall from a fourth story balcony. He has been cited as a major influence of metal stars like Slash of Guns n' Roses and Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, among others. McCoy says of the book: "This book is entertainment for entertainment's sake, for lovers of rock 'n' roll history and people who have a taste for the macabre." The North American Edition of the book, published by Bazillion Points, will feature rare candid pictures, a discography complete with rare, hard to find releases, and a new preface written after the breakup of Hanoi Rocks.
