Kill 'Em All Turns 25

On July 25 2008, Metallica's classic album, Kill 'Em All, officially turned twenty-five years old.  The band originally released the album through indie label Megaforce Records.  The record was done on a zero budget and the complete recording only took two weeks.  It almost sounds absurd now, but the label originally only printed 1500 copies.  Needless to say, they sold out.  Not too long after its release, the band signed with Elektra Records and Kill 'Em All was reissued through the label.  Eventually, the record would go on to sell more than three million records.

Recently Metallica drummer Lar Ulrich had this to say, "It's still fun and there's still a lot of people that get off on it, and, you know, you're playing to 50,000 people in Norway and most of them weren't born, not when Kill 'Em All came out, but, like, when the 'black album' came out! You know what I mean, it's like a whole new thing. The question mark is, I just don't know physically. The physical element is just the unknown. If we can find a way to deal with that, then I think we could stick around for a while."
