Black Sabbath Notches 1st Billboard No. 1 Album

Heavy metal legends Black Sabbath reached a new milestone this week.  A staggering 45 years after the band formed in Birmingham, England, the band records its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as their latest offering, "13", moved 155,000 copies in its first week.  It was the band's 23rd album overall, and first with original frontman Ozzy Osbourne since "Never Say Die!" in 1978.  It's also only Sabbath's second album to hit the top 10 following "Master of Reality", which reached the No. 8 position on the chart in 1971.  The new album also represents Osbourne's first appearance atop the Billboard albums chart, as he never achieved the feat during his successful solo career.  Osbourne peaked as a solo artist in 2007 when "Black Rain" reached No. 3, but never reached No. 1 despite logging seven top 10s on the chart.  Sabbath's 43 year wait for a No. 1, meanwhile, is surprisingly not the longest ever.  Crooner Tony Bennett, who first appeared on the Billboard chart in 1957, waited 54 years before his 2011 set "Duets II" reached No. 1.
