Lady Gaga Sued for Delaying Bratz Doll Launch

Pop superstar Lady Gaga is no stranger to lawsuits, having been sued by a former manager and others looking to cash in on her fame and earnings, in addition to filing several suits of her own aimed at protecting her intellectual property.  In Gaga's latest round of civil litigation, she has been named in a $10 million lawsuit filed by MGA Entertainment, who is accusing her of delaying approval for a line of Gaga-inspired Bratz dolls.  In addition to Gaga, the lasuit also names Atom Factory, the singer's mangement company, and Bravado International, her label's marketing arm.  MGA claims that Gaga had agreed to approve the final design for her doll in time to be shipped this summer, ahead of the all-important holiday shopping season.  But in April, Gaga asked to have the doll's release pushed back to coincide with the 2013 release of her next album.  MGA estimates in its complaint that the delay has cost it some $28 million in revenue from the 2012 retail year.
