Pop superstar Britney Spears has become the sixth person with ten million followers on the social networking / micro-blogging website Twitter, surpassing the mark last week.  The first five to accomplish the the milestone, in order, were Lady Gaga (now at 14.3 million followers), Justin Timberlake (13.3 million), President Obama (10.6 million), Katy Perry (10.5 million), and Kim Kardashian (10.3 million).

Expected to reach 10 million next is Shakira, who has just over 9 million followers currently, while Taylor Swift has 8.4 million and Rihanna has 8.2 million.
