Could legendary crooner Tony Bennett score his first-ever No. 1 album at the age of 85 with the help of a duet with a deceased pop singer. If recording industry prognosticators are right, he's got a shot. Insiders are estimating the the singer's new album, "Duets II," will sell between 155,000 and 170,000 albums this week, putting it in the running for top-selling album on the Billboard 200.
Standing in the album's way is Lady Antebellum's "Own the Night," Wwhich debuted last week at No. 1 with 347,000 copies sold. The 16 albums that have debuted in the top 10 on the chart this year have all dropped in sales their second week by 53% to 65%. If "Own the Night" follows that trend, it will sell between 139,00 and 163,000 units, making it a close call, either way.
