Extreme weather was not kind to live music over the weekend, as a series of shows around the country had to be halted or canceled due to torrential rain.  INXS had to cut short their concert at the Mohegan Sun casino in Pennsylvania about four songs in when a rain storm moved in, shorting out the elctrical system and blowing several of the band's amps.

In nearby New York, meanwhile, the final day of the Escape to New York festival had to be canceled after a torrential downpour soaked the festival grounds.  And down south, The Flaming Lips had to cancel a scheduled performance in Tulsa, Oklahoma when a thunderstorm moved in with heavy winds that knocked down their lighting rig moments before they were scheduled to go onstage.  Luckily, the road crew got nervous about a half hour earlier and removed the bulk of the equipment, though the storm is believed to have caused about $800,000 in damage.  Check out a video clip of the lighting rig toppling over below.

The weekend's biggest musical event, meanwhile, Lollapalooza, went off without a hitch, other than some rain that soaked fans on the final day.
