Dallas Cowboys Cut Terry Glenn

The Dallas Cowboys were not able to work out a deal with wide receiver Terry Glenn and have cut him from the team.  The receiver has been plagued with injury for the last couple of seasons and Dallas wanted Glenn to sign an injury agreement saying if he was injured this year, the Cowboys would only pay him $500,000.  However, if he played the entire season, then he would get his regular pay.  Initially, Glenn refused the deal and the Cowboys mentioned looking at Atlanta receiver Joe Horn, but then it seemed the two sides were negotiating again.   As of today, Terry Glenn is no mas.

According to the ESPN Radio show Football Tonight Jerry Jones owner of the Dallas Cowboys has cut Terry Glenn. Reportedly Jones said that the Cowboys had no choice but to let Glenn go since they could not agree on a contract that would have protected the team from paying Glenn his entire salary if he were to be injured again this year. He missed 15 regular season games last year but did play in the playoff game in the 2007 season.Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday that the team was waiving Glenn, but didn't rule out the possibility of the veteran receiver returning later if he's not claimed by another team. Glenn didn't play until the regular season finale last year because of a right knee injury.
