Record Company Won't Allow Black N Blue to post songs on MySpace

As of now there is only one song on the official Black n Blue Myspace page.  Most of you may remember that Black n Blue was signed to Geffen back in the 80's.  Geffen is now under the UMG (Universal Music Group)/Interscope umbrella. UMG is in a battle with Myspace at this moment regarding copyright music that UMG owns. UMG feels that since Myspace is making money off banner ads and other advertisements, that UMG should get a cut if one of their artists (current or former) music is on a streaming website such as here. EVEN IF the artist doesnt have the music set to download UMG will not allow a full song to be on Myspace.

The Black n Blue Myspace Webmaster went on to say, "We are unable to post ANYTHING from the Geffen record days since UMG holds the copyrights to it, unless its edited down to 30 seconds. Last week I went to upload some live recordings of the band (which are NOT in Geffens catalog) and a file block was placed on the profile, even though the material is not owned by UMG. Im currently trying to get this resolved with Myspace and UMG. We know this is frustrating to you the fan as it is for the band. We WILL have music on this page for you. hopefully sooner than later. "
